Autumnfest
This annual festival celebrates local food against a backdrop of live music and performances, local groups and societies, and activities for all ages. The event is an opportunity to pick up fresh fruit and vegetables, heritage fruit trees ideal for planting at this time of year, and to sample locally grown and produced food, beer and cider.

Open Studio

Christopher’s Caterpillars
Christopher Nibble and his best friend Posie have been busy growing plants and food in their garden whilst taking care of their six pet caterpillars. An Evening of Eric and Ern
This is a brilliant homage crammed full of renditions of those famous comedy sketches, from Greig's Piano concerto to Mr Memory, "Arsenal!" It’s a show full of Morecambe and Wise's most loved routines, songs and sketches and of course a musical guest. This wonderful show evokes memories of times when whole families would huddle around the telly on Sunday evenings.

Fire Brigade Open Afternoon
Come and visit the only fire-related museum in Hertfordshire and see the history of fire-fighting from the early days. See two 19th century manual hand pumps, a 1896 horse-drawn steam fire-pump, a 1937 Leyland pump-escape fire engine that served at St Albans, and a 1942 Dennis trailer pump used during WW2. There are firefighters’ uniforms that can be tried on, and fire-fighting equipment that can be handled. There is also a large photographic display of Watford Fire Brigade fire engines.

Strictly Come Hospice
Strictly Come Hospice is a fundraising event for Peace Hospice Care in Watford. Over the course of seven weeks you and your partner will learn how to dance either the Jive, Tango or Waltz and then compete against your fellow dancers for the coveted Strictly Come Hospice trophy. Taught by the professionals at the Paul Alex Dance Studio you will be waltzing and whirling your way around the dancefloor at Watford Colosseum in front of family and friends as they cheer you on to victory. The grand finale will be held at Watford Colosseum on the night of the 6th November. You and your guests will be treated to live performances from professional dancers as well as a fabulous disco at the end of the evening for you to show off your newly learned skills.

Walk for Water
Join Oxfam supporters for their annual Walk for Water - formerly the Herts Hike. Now celebrating its 25th year, the walk is run entirely by volunteers and attracts some 200 people. Every penny that walkers donate goes straight to Oxfam. There are routes to suit all ages and abilities - and it’s dog friendly too. It's a great day out for all – exploring our beautiful Hertfordshire countryside and also raising funds to provide water and sanitation to some of the world's poorest communities. The walk is flexible on distance – 3, 5, 8 or 15 mile circular routes – you can decide on the day. Start times are flexible during the morning and early afternoon. Refreshments, Fairtrade stalls and lots of other interest at Walk HQ (Scout Hut).
