Two men have been arrested for dangerous driving after a three-vehicle crash broke out in Harpenden.
Police were called to Redbourn Lane, Hatching Green after a white Mercedes vehicle crashed into two other cars at around 9pm on Wednesday (October 2).
Two men were inside the Mercedes were arrested for dangerous driving offences and were taken to hospital with injuries.
An elderly driver of a Vauxhall Astra, one of the other cars affected by the collision, was airlifted to a hospital in Cambridge. Fortunately, the driver of the other car which was hit, a Ford Mondeo, did not require hospital treatment after the incident.
Redbourn Lane is currently closed from the roundabout on the St Albans Road to the Harpenden Rugby Club and is likely to remain closed until the early hours of Thursday (October 3) while the Road Crash Investigation Team complete procedures at the scene.
