A prolific shoplifter who was found with a knife has been jailed and banned from the town centre.
Michael O'Connell, 37, from Harrow, was convicted of having a knife in a public place after being stopped and searched by police on Kymberley Road, Harrow.
He was also convicted of shoplifting from a store in Uxbridge.
He was jailed for 20 weeks by Uxbridge Magistrates Court on November 1, and was given a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order.
The order bans O'Connell from the town centre. However, he is allowed to access Harrow on the Hill train station and Harrow Bus Station via Headstone Road.
He is also banned from a number of shops in Harrow and Uxbridge: Waterstones, Iceland, The Body Shop, WH Smith, Smiggle, Boots, TK MAXX, The Perfume Shop, Asda and BP service station.
And he cannot remain in any shop or commercial premises if asked to leave by staff.
