A pub has reopened with a new 'countryside' look and five new staff.

The Old Bell in Harpenden opened on November 6 after closing for two weeks.

Work included creating a new bar area and a new outdoor seating area with heaters to keep customers warm.

Five new jobs have also been created including three front of house and two chef roles.

The Old Bell general manager Marc Lafayette said: “We’ve already had great feedback on the refurbishment, both inside and out.

“We’ve also introduced new planting, lighting and furniture to improve our exterior spaces.

“Guests are particularly enjoying our revamped bar area and cosy interior, which ensure The Old Bell is a relaxed destination whatever the occasion.”
