On Thursday, January 16, St Albans Choral Society invites all aspiring singers to an open rehearsal at Dagnall Street Baptist Church.
The rehearsal is open to anyone who enjoys singing and can sing in tune, and is a great chance to try out a friendly local choir. The Society will start work on the famous Mozart Requiem and music will be available on the night for those who come along, whether you have sung in a choir before or are completely new to it.
The event, from 7.30pm to 9.45pm, is part of the Society’s 75th anniversary season. The choir will perform the Requiem along with a new work, Pietà, by composer Richard Blackford, in St Albans Cathedral on Saturday, April 25.

The choir has an active social side and also sings in the community. Its fund-raising at its Christmas concert, carol singing at the city station, and other donations produced a grand total of £2,664 for its adopted charities, Centre 33 and the Hospice of St Francis.
