A city centre street has been cordoned off due to an emergency incident.
Hertfordshire Constabulary say they were called to Carlisle Avenue in St Albans this afternoon to reports of concerns for the welfare of a man.
The emergency services were called at 3.15pm. An air ambulance also attended.
Police say a man has been taken to hospital for treatment but the road remains closed because enquiries are ongoing.
