A LANDSLIDE has caused major disruption to all train services running between Romsey and Salisbury.

Services between the two stations will be cancelled, delayed or revised with disruption expected until the end of March.

A torrent of mud and debris last week caused significant damage to an embankment which now needs "substantial" repair work.

South Western Railway (SWR) is not currently able to run trains on this route.

Trains will instead run in a loop in both directions starting and finishing at Romsey calling at: Redbridge, Millbrook, Southampton Central, St Denys, Swaythling, Southampton Airport Parkway, Eastleigh and Chandlers Ford.

The following stations will have no train service but will be served by a half-hourly bus: Dean and Mottisfont and Dunbridge

SWR has arranged replacement buses to run on the following routes:

Southampton to Salisbury in both directions via Redbridge and Millbrook.

Buses will not pick up passengers from Romsey station but at bus stops on the A3057.

And, in Redbridge passengers will be picked up at the bus stops by the Shell garage.

Great Western Railway services between Portsmouth and Cardiff Central will only run between Salisbury and Cardiff Central.

SWR tickets will be accepted on Great Western services while Great Western tickets will be accepted on SWR.

For further information visit the SWR website or call 0345 6000 650.

We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey.
