The search for a missing man who was on his way to a camping trip continues as police have a new lead.

Police have been searching for Edward Jerram, 21, who has not returned home since going on a camping trip on June 6.

Edward, from Moreton, is now believed to be in South Wales after police received information which made them believe he is in the Neath Port Talbot area.

Essex Police say they have liaised with colleagues at South Wales Police and they are now leading the search.

Superintendent Craig Saunders said: “I want to thank the public for all their help and support during the investigation to find Edward.

“This support has been really helpful to our investigation and is greatly appreciated.

“We have information which indicates he is in South Wales and South Wales Police are now taking the lead in the search to find him.

“I want to thank the member of public who came forward with this information as it could be crucial to finding Edward and reuniting him with his family.”

He is described as having curly blond hair and is believed to be clean-shaven.
