Plans to demolish a bungalow to make way for a six one-bedroom flats in Buckhurst Hill look set to be approved.
Epping Forest District Council will consider the planning application at a planning committee meeting tomorrow (September 23).
Plans for the site, on the corner of the junction of Princes Road and Queens Road, include the bulldozing of the bungalow currently occupying the site to make way for a three-storey development with six one-bedroom flats, two commercial units on the ground floor, refuse area, bike storage, and a private amenity area.
Council officers have recommended the proposals, which contain no plans for extra parking spaces, for approval.
Surrounding parking within 200 metres of the site is all restricted with either permits or charges. The nearest unrestricted parking is 350 metres away.
The Highways Officer found no reason to object to the application. They said: "The applicant has undertaken a parking beat survey which demonstrates to the satisfaction of the Highway Authority that any off-street parking that results from the development will not have a detrimental impact upon highway safety within the vicinity.
"The Parking Standards Sept 2009 also state that parking provision can be reduced in urban areas well served by other sustainable modes of transport. Consequently, there are no highway grounds for objecting to the proposal."
