A new school gym and specialist classroom building launched this month with the start of the new academic term.

Reddiford School in Pinner held a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 9 for its new facilities which introduced the spacious gym and further classrooms.

Despite construction delays caused by the coronavirus lockdown, the Darwin Group construction company were able to complete the new facilities in time for the school term.

The new facility will be mainly used for extra curriculum programmes, including karate, the IT and coding club, and a wide range of music and sporting activities.

But for now there will be limited use and access to the full facilities due to current Covid-19 restrictions.

During the ceremony, the head boy and girl read a moving prayer in which they gave thanks that the Reddiford community were able to join together in celebrating the new building.

Graham Jukes, the chair of governors, thanked headteacher Mrs J Batt for her drive and enthusiasm over the last few years in ensuring the project was completed for the new term.

The school says the facilities will be much used despite restrictions.
