A public consultation has launched following proposals to move a Post Office into a convenience store.

The Hatch End Post Office is proposed to move to Mili News at Uxbridge Road, Hatch End, which would introduce extra 44 hours of Post Office service in the area.

If the move were to happen, there would be two Post Office counters alongside the retail counter of the newsagents.

And by being located at Mili News, opening hours would be:

• Monday to Friday: 6am – 8pm

• Saturday 7am – 8pm

• Sunday 7am – 2pm.

The proposal is part of the Post Office’s ongoing modernisation of its branch network.

In September, a branch in Kenton Lane reopened after being similarly relocated a few doors away to News Express.

Jason Collins, Post Office Regional Change Manager, said: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”

Customers are being asked to give their comments about the Hatch End move in a public consultation, so that the Post Office can collect feedback on accessibility, local community issues and any ways to make life easier for customers.

The consultation can be found at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 164020 and it will close on December 2, 2020.

Submissions can also be made via email to comments@postoffice.co.uk, by post to Freepost YOUR COMMENTS, or by telephone 03452 66 01 15 or Textphone 03457 22 33 55.
