A man has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences after being 'stung' by an online 'paedophile hunting' group.
The 47-year-old was snared in a pub car park at around 11.40am on Sunday after it was alleged he had arranged to meet with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
The incident took place in the car park of the Hesketh's Arms pub on New Hall Lane in Preston.
A spokesperson for the police said: "A 47-year-old man from Preston was arrested on Sunday November 29, on suspicion of sexual offences.
"He has since been bailed until December 21, pending further enquiries."
A post on the Hesketh's Arms Facebook page alleged: "As some of you might know a paedophile was caught today by an organised group at the back of our pub, where this sick individual had arranged to meet what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
"Well done to the group and the police for taking another sick vile excuse of a human off the streets."
