Every England goal will cost fans nearly £12million according to new research from financial experts.

The nation will be at a standstill as the Three Lions attempt to finally add to the World Cup triumph of 1966.

England’s first ever European Championship final is the reward for years of progress and a month to cherish in these challenging, divided times.

After topping Group D, finally beating old foes Germany and swatting aside Ukraine, Harry Kane saw off Denmark 2-1 in extra time to finally end their semi-final hoodoo.

Alcohol consumption is likely to be high with Boris Johnson urged to grant an emergency Bank Holiday Monday in the event of an England win.

And with beer in hand, there is no doubt we will see the modern phenomenon that is fans throwing their pints in the air in celebration.

According to financial experts at Raisin UK, 3.2 million pints of beer will be thrown in the air during Sunday’s England v Italy Euro 2020 final.

With the average pint of beer costing £3.69 (and it London being £4.44), the overall value of the 350,000 pints thrown in the air comes to an eye-watering £1,291,500 or roughly 6 weeks' worth of wages for England captain Harry Kane.

If 3.2 million pints are bought on July 11th, this will increase to £11.8 million in spends, which equates to 59 weeks of pay for captain Harry Kane.

If the euro final were to have 35 million viewers, this would equate to a prediction of 3.7 million pints, totalling to £13.6 million in spends for the hospitality industry.

Although that figure could rise even higher.

The British Beer and Pub Association reckons nearly 13 million pints could be bought on Sunday.

It estimated 7.1 million of those would be sold within the course of the game itself if it ends within normal time – equating to almost 1,000 pints a second.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson has already said pubs can stay open until 11.15pm on Sunday to reduce the risk of customers being told to leave before the match ends.
