A yellow weather warning has been issued for Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas for the rest of the day (Monday).
The Met Office is warning of potential flooding as heavy rain and thunderstorms make their way over the region.
Its website reads: "Slow-moving, heavy showers, with some thunderstorms, are likely to continue to break out during today.
"This may lead to torrential downpours in some places with 20 to 30 mm of rain in an hour and perhaps in excess of 60 mm in some spots in two or three hours.
"There is also a chance of more persistent heavy rain developing over parts of southeast England for a time during the afternoon or evening."

- Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
