Two more men have been arrested in connection with a vehicle crime series in Harpenden and Wheathampstead.
A 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, both from Luton, were arrested last night (Monday October 11) on suspicion of 11 thefts from motor vehicles, a theft of motor vehicle and vehicle interference in Harpenden and Wheathampstead between September 20 and September 30 this year.
They are currently on conditional police bail pending further enquiries until November 10.
Six other men were arrested in connection to the recent thefts from motor vehicles series in Harpenden and Wheathampstead following targeted police patrols.
St Albans district Chief Inspector Mike Todd said: “In response to an increase in vehicle crime across Harpenden and Wheathampstead, a proactive intelligence led operation has been in place.
“This operation has involved overt policing patrols and coverts tactics which has led to numerous arrests.
“This operation continues and again I make it clear to those coming into the St Albans district to commit crime - I will continue to use every tactical option available to bring those responsible to justice.”
“Please continue to make sure you remove all valuables and securely lock your vehicle.”
