A man has been given a restraining order and fined hundreds of pounds during a court hearing.

Dominic Morris, 28, of Hunt Close, St Albans pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating and two counts of criminal damage in the Radlett area.

The crimes were committed against the same woman and her property.

St Albans Magistrates Court heard on July 4 this year, Morris beat the woman and caused damage to the victim's trousers and her Louis Vuitton bag.

Then on August 19, he damaged the latch of her front door and assaulted the woman again.

Morris initially pleaded not guilty to the charges laid against him but later changed his pleas to guilty.

After appearing in court on November 18, Morris was issued with a restraining order which bans him from directly or indirectly contacting the victim, or visiting the WD7 postcode area until November 2023.

He was fined a total of £545 and was also issued with a community order of 100 hours of unpaid work.

Morris is also required to take part in a 30 day domestic abuse accredited programme.
