LATEST UPDATE: Man taken to hospital after it is believed he fell from an overhead bridge
The Bingley Bypass was closed tonight as emergency services dealt with a serious incident.
The bypass, also known as Sir Fred Hoyle Way, was been closed in both directions at a point near the town's railway station, onlookers said.
Park Road, which crosses the bypass and the nearby Leeds-Liverpool Canal, was also closed off by police. Images emerged appearing to show a police car parked underneath the bridge.
At around 9.45pm, one passer-by told the Telegraph & Argus: "Traffic is stopped on the Bingley Bypass due to an accident. This involves the Keighley side as traffic is building up. Police and emergency services are en-route."
At 10pm, another passer-by said a person was suspected to have fallen from the bridge next to the railway station, although this account has not been confirmed by police.
The passer-by added: "Numerous bystanders and police and ambulance staff on scene."
