Three children and two adults have been taken to Watford General Hospital following a crash on the A41.

The crash on the A41 northbound, between the M25 and Two Waters, caused heavy traffic delays after an eyewitness reported seeing a car roll four times.

Hertfordshire County Council says two vehicles were involved.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 3.04pm to a road traffic collision on the A41 in Kings Langley.

“Three ambulances and an operations manager were sent to the scene.

“Two adults and three children were transported to Watford General Hospital for further assessment.”

Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene at 3.11pm today (August 15) but found nobody trapped inside a vehicle.

Police have been asked for more information.

An eyewitness said: "There were at least four people in one car, including young kids with cuts and bruises and one lady with a neck injury who was taken away on a stretcher."

Another motorist reported it looked like a "bad accident" and said they do not feel safe parked by barriers just off the M25 junction.

Motorists have reported waiting for more than an hour in traffic before police told them the lane could reopen.
