A WINDOW cleaner is swapping his day job to embark on an Alaskan adventure to raise money for deaf children.
Bill Singleton from Harpenden has pledged to raise more than £1,000 for the National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) by travelling 6,000 miles across America.
He plans to venture from sunny Montana to snowy Alaska on his Harley Davidson Road King.
Bill will be setting off on July 11 as part of an NDCS challenge.
"I have toured the USA before on my Harley Davidson, but never quite as far as Alaska," he said.
"Supporting NDCS is very important to me. My daughter, my son-in-law and friends are deaf and my Alaskan Adventure is a great opportunity to raise awareness about the work of NDCS.
"I'm really looking forward to the trip, the scenery should be spectacular and the wilderness - hundreds of miles isolated from civilisation."
