Plans have been submitted for a four-bedroom home to be demolished and replaced with three new houses in Harpenden.

The application would see Greenhaven - at The Common, Kinsbourne Green - replaced with "modern detached dwellings".

The proposed new homes would be three storeys tall and would feature four bedrooms in plots one and two, and five in plot three.

The site borders the Green Belt, but is considered brownfield previously developed land, and does not obstruct any views to or from the Green Belt according to the plans.

A Design and Access Statement included within the application reads: "The design is aimed at acknowledging the Victorian and Edwardian aesthetic.

SUGGESTED READING

"Whilst many Victorian dwellings often formed parts of a terrace of dwellings, the detached proposals allow the width of the property to be continued to the rear and allow additional space, without detriment to appearance."
