THE Carlton Players’ next production, Move Over Mrs Markham by Ray Cooney and John Chapman is at The Little Theatre in Birkenhead from tomorrow (Tuesday, April 30) until Saturday (May 4).

When the Markham’s evening out is cancelled it is too late to let any of the parties know and three sets of hopeful lovers all converge on the bedroom at the same time.

Rock n roll

MIKE Byrne and the Sunrockers are back at the British Legion on Pensby Road in Heswall this Wednesday (May 1) promising another great night of Rock and Roll. Doors open 7,30 pm Admission £5 on the door.

Family fun

A May Fair will be held at Ashton Park in West Kirby next Monday (May 6) from 10am-4pm.

Organised by Friends of Ashton Park it promises ‘everything for the family to enjoy’ and free admission.

There will be donkey rides, a bouncy elephant, model boats, rugby taster, bric-a-brac, singing bluebirds, plants and stalls galore. Refreshments will be available in nearby Westbourne Hall.

Classic show

Auditions for West Kirby Musical Theatre Company’s next production, Beauty and the beast will take place next month.

Race for life

WIRRAL's Race For Life events in aid of Cancer Research UK take place next month.

The Globe-backed fundraiser, taking place in Birkenhead Park on Sunday, May 19 is open to people of all ages and abilities where mums, dads, sons, daughters, grandparents and friends can choose from 3k and 5k events.

There will also be a chance on the day to take part in Pretty Muddy, a 5k mud-splattered obstacle course, and there’s a Pretty Muddy Kids option.

Money raised at Race for Life enables scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer - moving closer to a world where everyone can live longer, better lives free from the fear of cancer.

Family festival

A family festival including a live music stage, dance music arena and a kids’ stage will be held on Wirral next month.

The Wirral Family Festival, at Tranmere Rovers’ Prenton Park ground on Saturday, May 11 will feature a live music stage on the pitch with tribute bands covering genres such as rock, pop, indie, ska and reggae. There will also be a dance music arena including well-known local house music DJs.

Also among the entertainment on the day will be superhero shows, princess shows, pony rides, inflatables, talent shows and more.
