THE county councillor in charge of children's services across Hertfordshire has been awarded an OBE in the Queen's Birthday Honours list.
Jane Pitman, the lead member for children's services, received the gong for her services to local government.
The Conservative Party member lives in Ware and was last week re-elected to represent Braughing ward with a majority of 1,454 votes.
