A WHEATHAMPSTEAD parish councillor has been suspended for a month after being investigated by St Albans District Council for his alleged breach of conduct within his role.
Councillor Keith Stammers was reported to the Standards Committee over complaints including him being rude to a member of the public in the council offices and intimidating a fellow member of the parish council.
The former Tory Mayor was investigated over the barrage of accusations by an investigator appointed by the district council's monitoring officer, after which a report was compiled.
Evidence gathered in the document was discussed by the standards consideration and hearing sub-committee at the district council yesterday where it was agreed to suspend Councillor Stammers for one month from October 1.
The 64-year-old part-time volunteer at St Albans Centre for Voluntary Services has a right to appeal against the decision.
