ST MICHAEL'S Church in St Albans has been inundated with more financial support as our appeal fund continues to grow.
Our Raise the Roof appeal was launched a fortnight ago and is now appraoching the £9,000 mark.
We want to help the historic church recover from thousands of pounds' worth of damage caused by lead thieves who stole the roof.
The total includes two cheques sent directly to the Review's newsdesk of £1,000 and £500.
The Rev Gray said the church has a number of concerts in the pipeline and thanked the Review and members of the public for their help.
A temporary felt roof has been fitted at the St Michael's Street church which enabled services at the weekend to resume as normal.
Rev Gray told the Review: "This is appeal has really helped and we have been overwhelmed by the supported.”
