A HATFIELD couple became the 100th social housing tenants in the borough.
Mr and Mrs Monk of Longmead got a visit from Welwyn Hatfield MP Grant Shapps to celebrate the installation of panels by renewable energy supplier Eada, which funds them in exchange for the surplus electricity they generate.
Mr Shapps said: "I was delighted to drop in on Mr and Mrs Monk and see their brand new solar panels. It looks great and I’m sure they’ll be even more pleased when they receive their next energy bill.
“Eaga should be congratulated on this success. As housing minister, I want to see other areas following Welwyn Hatfield’s lead and making more homes energy efficient.”
