A BRAVE Welwyn Garden City boy battling a life-threatening heart condition has been treated to an army-mad bedroom make-over.
Thanks to Make-A-Wish Foundation, a UK charity that grants the wishes of children and young people suffering life-threatening diseases, Gianno Okoye returned home from school to a special surprise.
The nine-year-old's room was transformed with an army theme complete with camouflage-style paint, an army desk and curtains.
Gianno suffers from Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, a condition that affects his heart and causes learning difficulties.
He now has his own bedroom for the first time after previously sharing a room with his sister Hannah, aged six, and grandfather.
Following a recent family move Make-A-Wish decided to salute the little trooper by giving him his dream bedroom.
Gianno’s Mum Cindy Okoye said: “Gianno was happy about getting his own bedroom for the first time. Now thanks to Make-A-Wish he now has a room that is beyond even his wildest dreams. He hasn’t stopped smiling since he got it.”
