What art work would you put on a “4th plinth” in the centre of St.Albans? Where should the incinerator be located, or is there a greener way of getting rid of waste?

These were some of the questions asked at the Radio Verulam recordings of “Your Questions” which are taking place each month.

The debates are lively and rightly so as most of the questions are to do with justice in this community.

But imagine a “Your Questions” set up by God, with Jesus as the sole panellist. What would you ask? I think I could guess some of your questions.

Here’s one:-“Why do you allow all the suffering and evil in the world ? Couldn’t you have stopped the earthquake in Japan and annihilate terrorist leaders?”

Here’s another question:-“What can I do about my thoughts? I still feel guilty over a certain issue”

And another:- “If you are real, God, couldn’t you just do a world-wide miracle and show us, once and for all, that you exist?

I don’t think Jesus would have bored us all with a lengthy debate.Instead of talking he’d show a video clip. There would be no reasoning, no debate. He would show himself experiencing the worst method of execution that the Romans could devise - the shame, the agony, the death. Then maybe he’d just say “That‘s your answer from Father God. That was to free you from your guilt, to take your suffering on myself and to show you love in action.”

Broadcast over. Discussion begins.
