Actresses from a theatre in St Albans took to the stage with a thought provoking play to raise money for charity.
Performers from the Abbey Theatre put on the show to raise cash for the Women’s Refuge and Sure-Start St Albans.
The play, which is written by Ariel Dorfman, tells the story of a group of peasant women who are mourning their missing husbands and sons.
The performance was attended by volunteers and supporters from the two charities as well as the Mayor of St Albans Councillor Aislinn Lee.
She said: “The play, although sad, was brilliantly performed and made us think how lucky we are.
“I would like to thank the Abbey Theatre and the Company of Ten for putting on this wonderful performance to help the charities.”
