A GROUP of friends from St Albans were cheered on by Outnumbered actor Daniel Roche when they took part in a sponsored swim for a charity close to their heart.

The 21 girls from St Albans High School for Girls took on the challenge, on Sunday, May 27, in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

One of the girls, Molly Pattinson, has been undergoing treatment at the children's hospital after being diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma 12 months ago.

The students wanted to show their support for Molly and her family by helping them to raise the much-needed cash for the charity.

In one hour Molly and her friends swam more than 17 miles between them and were delighted to be presented their medals by Daniel Roche.
