MORE than £1,200 was raised for two charities during a garden party in St Albans.

Doing it For Charity member Kathryn Crossley hosted the 'Gazebos in the Garden' event at her home in Homewood Road in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support and Willow Foundation.

On Wednesday, May 30 around 250 people attended the event and enjoyed stalls selling cakes, jams, marinades, cheeses, jewellery, handbags and candles.

Guests were also treated to cakes and coffee, a raffle and tombola prizes. In total £1,267.70 was raised for the two causes.

St Albans fire crew also popped along in the morning to show their support, joining the team for a coffee.

Kathryn has thanked local businesses for supporting the event and for others who helped out.
