A garden landscaping company in St Albans has been named a winner in this year’s Hertfordshire Small Business Awards.

Lanwarne Landscapes Ltd walked away with the trophy for the Fair Trading category of the competition on Thursday night.

Although the company has been nominated for the awards before, this is the first time it been a winner.

James Lanwarne, the owner of the company, said: "I’m ecstatic about it - I’m absolutely thrilled.

"I always aim to surpass our client’s expectations.

"I am sure that my commitment to offering more and more to our clients is the reason that I did so well in the awards and I couldn’t be happier."

Mr Lanwarne also narrowly missed taking away the prize for Business Person of the Year, coming in second place.

He added: "It is great to be recognised.

"I have worked constantly and it is really starting to come together.

"I’m really pleased."
