A 2-1 victory against Bedford Ladies & Girls FC helped St Albans City Ladies remain in top spot in Beds and Herts Women’s Football League Division One.
The Saints started with attacking intent but fell behind as Bedford countered and a shot from distance found the corner of the net.
It was a lead they held until half-time but in the second period St Albans took control and levelled when Holly Sheridan tapped home a rebound after Molly Slade’s strong shot was only parried.
City were not content with just one point however, and went ahead with ten minutes remaining.
From a tight angle, Sheridan thundered a shot around the keeper to ensure victory for the Saints.
