Verulamians are gearing up for the opening of their refurbished clubhouse on Saturday, October 18.
The club’s lounge, clubroom and bar have been extensively renovated thanks to a sizeable legacy grant from the RFU and club member donations, complementing work earlier this year on playing facilities.
Verulamians are celebrating the day with an all-day programme of events, with a league lunch, a first-team league match, afternoon family BBQ and an evening disco.
The club’s mini and juniors chairwoman Angela Clifford said: “It will give us the opportunity not only to enhance match days but also offer a smart, modern new venue for hiring out to businesses, schools and community events.”
Verulamians Under-11s extended their three-year unbeaten league record with a convincing 55-0 win over Fullerians.
There were tries from Elliot Pate, Michael Rodriguez and Luke McAndrew in the one-sided victory.
Verulamians Under-14s went down 40-22 at home to Barnet Elizabethans despite a strong fightback.
