Two of Redbourn Golf Club's junior members have been named county captains.
Harry Bigham, 15, a member of Redbourn for the last nine years, has been named Hertfordshire Under-16 Boys’ captain this year.
The captaincy follows a successful year for the +1 handicapper, having won both the men’s club championship, and the prestigious Under-14s Amateur Stroke Play tournament, the Reid Trophy.
Taking on the Under-18 Girls’ county captaincy for 2016 is fellow Redbourn junior member Sophie Faulkner.
The 17-year-old has been a member of the club for only two years, but has already proved her worth in the golfing arena with a playing handicap of five, and claiming the title of ladies club champion in 2015.
The club's general manager Ian McDowell said: “Here at Redbourn, we have always strived to create a welcoming and supportive environment for young players.
"It’s been a pleasure to follow and support Harry and Sophie’s progress at the club; I anticipate bright futures for them both in the world of golf.”
