Harpenden Town extended their winning run to 11 games in dramatic fashion on Saturday as they scored a last minute winner against Hadley Wood & Wingate.
Harps were behind early on as Nicholas Kouroushi side footed in after getting on the end of a cross from the right.
They maintained their lead until the interval before an improved second half showing from the visitors saw David Keenleyside level with a precise finish from the edge of the box.
Both sides pushed forward for a winner, but it was Harps who were rewarded in the final minute of stoppage time.
Ben Warren kept his cool during a goalmouth scramble and played a clever pull back for the game’s outstanding player Jack Barber, who smashed home the winner.
The result keeps Town a point behind league leaders Biggleswade United in second spot in the South Midland Premier League Division One table, much to the delight of manager Danny Plumb.
He said: “We showed great spirit to keep going until the last minute. We need to start the game better but I am happy with the three points.”
