Watford climbed up to third in the Championship with a battling 1-0 win over Barnsley at Vicarage Road.

Here's how we rated their individual performances.

Daniel Bachmann - 7.5

A calm and commanding performance from the keeper.

Kiko Femenia - 7

Defended well and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet.

Francisco Sierralta - 7.5

Another imperious display at the back, despite almost scoring an own goal.

William Troost-Ekong - 7.5

Every bit as good as his defensive partner.

Adam Masina - 7

Looking almost as good as he was before his injury.

Will Hughes - 7.5

Showed why he's been such a miss, calm on the ball, creative and positive.

Tom Cleverley - 7

Another battling display - worked well alongside Hughes.

Ismaila Sarr - 7

Unfortunate not to get a couple of assists on the night with some good crossing.

Ken Sema - 7

Worked really hard, picked out Gray with one really good pass.

Troy Deeney - 8

Produced an excellent balanced display - came deep when he needed to, combined well with others in attack and scored the vital goal, after winning the penalty.

Andre Gray - 6

Got into some good positions with some clever movement, but his finishing was that of a man without any confidence.

Joao Pedro - 6

Good movement and attacking intent once he came on.

Philip Zinckernagel - 6.5

Some good deliveries from the right - unlucky not to set up Troost-Ekong at the end.

Nathaniel Chalobah - 6

Calm and solid once he came on.

Craig Cathcart - N/A

Jeremy Ngakia - N/A
