Watford are in discussions with Rennes midfielder James Lea Siliki over a potential loan move, the Watford Observer understands.

While nothing has been agreed yet, the talks are concerning a possible six month deal with an option to buy.

Reports from France suggest the player is keen on a move to England, but that clubs in Belgium and Italy are also interested.

Siliki has made just 10 appearances in all competitions for Rennes so far this season, after spending the start of the campaign recovering from an injury.

The Hornets signed Ismaila Sarr from the same side back in 2019 and a deal would see the pair reunited at Vicarage Road.

While he predominantly plays in the centre of midfield, he has also been deployed out on the left on occasion.
