The Hockey for Heroes tour, which aims to raise money for injured servicemen and women, will visit St Albans next month.

Three games will be played at St Albans Hockey Club on Tuesday, June 2 as part of the #Opstretcher Tour, as a military select XI takes on teams from St Albans and Hertford.

The tour itself sees a team of 44 carry Dom Hugill-Lovett, who was injured while on a military training exercise, a total of 200 miles across Wales and England, playing over 30 games across 10 days.

Hockey for Heroes CEO, Joel Forrester, believes the event will be a challenge but says all those involved are fully prepared.

He said: “We are about to embark on this 10 day objective. We feel prepared and ready to take this challenge head on.

“The planning and preparation has gone fantastically well and the squad is ready to make #Opstretcher a success.”

The day takes place at Oaklands College and the first match of the day starts at 4pm and sees the Military select XI take on a Hockey for Heroes side.
