St Albans City’s chances of reaching the National League play-offs have boosted after clubs voted to increase the number of clubs who qualify from four to six.
In previous years teams from second to fifth made it into the end of season fight to try and secure promotion, but the play-off cut-off will now extend to seventh position.
The matches also be decided over a one leg basis rather than two, with teams who finish higher in the league being handed home advantage.
The matches are scheduled to be played as followed.
Match 1: 4th v 7th
Match 2: 5th v 6th
Match 3: 2nd v Winner of Match 1
Match 4: 3rd v Winner of Match 2
