You may have noticed I have not been blogging much of late. I think part of this could be due to the fact that I grown used to the whole co-habiting thing and now find it completely acceptable that someone can own 200+ pairs of shoes.

However, every now and then, the odd thing or two will still crop up and baffle the hell out of me.

During the last quarter of 2008, Holly became obsessed with this new game that found it's way onto Facebook. Essentially, it is an online version of The Sims, where you control this character and you have to send it to work to get virtual money, so you can get virtual goods.

Thing is, you can only go to work and earn this cash, once every six hours. So Holly would come home from work (in the real world that is), and then log on and go to work at 6ish (in the fake Yoville world), and then again at 12.00ish. She has been playing this game so much, she has now bought a virtual house.

When Holly was first introduced to Yoville, I remember she was on the phone to her sister and the conversation went a little like this:

“Ok, yeah, I'll head to the coffee shop and I'll see you there............................... Oh look, there you are! Hello! Ok.......... Right........... Bye.”

I genuinely thought she was gonna head off out and meet her sister at some coffee shop. Instead, she 'met' her online.

I could understand the point of Yoville, if you could play against your friends at chess or any other competitive game, but you can't. Your characters just stand there, looking cute and they do the occasional dance – Sony's Playstation Home lets you do more than that! Honestly...

Anyway, since Holly has taken an interest in this online video game, I am taking it as hopeful sign that she may one day ask to join me in co-op mode on Call of Duty: World at War or maybe Gears of War 2.

Fingers crossed.
