Students at West Herts College were visited by members of the emergency services last week to be given a sobering lesson in road safety.
Police, paramedics, firefighters gave talks last Friday as part of the Learn 2 Live campaign, which aims to reduce road deaths among young people.
PC Bob Heeley spoke about the importance of seatbelts and airbags, as well as the consequences of using mobile phones while driving.
David Elliott, from Watford Fire Station, who has worked closely with the college for several years, said: "It is great to offer training and insight to these youngsters."
