A gardening show took place in Abbots Langley last weekend and showcased some of the village’s best produce.

The annual Abbots Langley Gardening Society show was held on Saturday, September 7 at the community centre in the village. The event was open to the public from 2.30pm and finished at 5pm.

Over 300 entries were made to the show and four judges decided on the best product. There were also entries from seven children.

There were a variety of products exhibited including flowers, arts and crafts, tapestry and a cooking session. Abbots Langley parish councillor Gloria Keaveny presented the prizes at the end.

Jane Lay, secretary of the gardening society, said: "It was a super day despite the rainy weather, it was lovely to see all the villagers turn out to give their support because without their support we wouldn’t be able to do the shows."

The gardening society show has been a tradition in Abbots Langley since the 1950s and two shows take place each year.
