A date has been set for the funeral of a popular young man who died in a car accident.

Jake Franklin-Beck was killed last month just days before his 21st birthday.

He was on his way home from Australia to surprise his friends and family.

Details of his upcoming funeral have now been confirmed by family of the roofer from Garston.

It is being held on Friday, May 26 at 9.20am at West Herts Crematorium.

Men are being asked to wear a white shirt with a blue tie and women to wear black with a blue item of clothing.

Since Jake’s death there has been an outpouring of support from friends and family. 

Brother Dexter, 26, previously said: "We are overwhelmed with the support shown for Jake and our family, and will be forever grateful to everyone who has either sent us messages or donated to help bring Jake home from Australia.”

Days after Jake's death, his friend Breeze Mitchell started an online fundraising page, which has already raised more than £23,840.

Writing on the gofundme page, Breeze Mitchell said: "A football fanatic Chelsea fan, a roofer who climbed like a monkey, a boy that gave everything he could every day he lived, to his family, his friends, and to his general dedication to life itself.

"Donations for this cause will be greatly respected and appreciated, and I know the man himself will be over the moon, with anyone who helped his family at this difficult time."
