The University of Hertfordshire has received a grant of £324,000 to form an outreach network working with potential students in Hertfordshire from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The network will be called Herts AHEAD (Accessing Higher Education and Academic Development) and it is the first time that all higher and further education providers in Hertfordshire have come together.
This forms part of a new £22 million scheme from the National Networks for Collaborative Outreach (NNCO) encouraging more young people into higher education.
Herts AHEAD is led by the University of Hertfordshire’s Outreach and Widening Participation team in collaboration with: Oaklands College, Hertford Regional College, North Hertfordshire College, West Herts College, Royal Veterinary College, University Campus St Albans, the Apprenticeships Providers Network, the Local Enterprise Partnership, Herts for Learning and Hertfordshire County Council.
