Hundreds of screaming fans descended on London Colney today to catch a glimpse of pop star Peter Andre.

The Mysterious Girl singer was signing copies of his latest album in Sainsbury’s in Colney Fields this afternoon.

Fans queued for hours to get their copy of the CD signed.

He said: "It is so nice to do signings. It is great fun.

"It always means a lot to me. You get so close to the people who have supported you.

"I just love creating a vibe."

Jane Parker, who lives in Potters Bar, visited the store today with 15 of her friends and family.

They arrived just after 10am, four hours before the signing was due to begin. She said: "He is my idol - he is amazing.

"I have tickets to see his tour but here we can see him up close.

"He is what I would call my kind of man."

Camera crews were also at the store filming for the next series of the star’s reality TV show Peter Andre: My Life. Deputy store manager Stuart Priest said: "It is fantastic for the customers.

"The phone was ringing off the hook this morning about the signing.

"I’m really pleased."

Today marked the official launch of the album, Angels and Demons, and Peter will spend the next week travelling the country signing copies.

He said: "There is a bit of everything.

"There is a lot of up tempo and R&B stuff.

"I would love to add another top ten album to my list."
