Sir,

In this weeks Welwyn Hatfield Times paper there was plenty of coverage given to the various local services held on Remembrance Sunday. Needless to say WGC, as ever, was heavily featured but there was no coverage of the Hatfield service. I note that your on-line newspaper missed it too! I think this was a poor show all round.

I have therefore provided you with my own photo of the beautifully manicured Memorial Gardens by the main entrance to Hatfield Park.

I do find it somewhat tiresome to read year in, year out about WGC and the 2nd World war. They were hardly part of it at all!

Hatfield, on the other hand, was bombed many times with loss of life, and its De Havilland aircraft factory worked flat out to produce planes for the RAF to defend this country. Without planes like the Mosquito, Britain would have been doomed.

Yours, George Nicholson
