Rainbows in St Albans have stuffed envelopes with treats and goodies to send to youngsters living in children’s home in Europe.
The girls, aged between five and seven, filled 22 envelopes and sent them to Romania and Moldova on Friday, November 30.
The group decided to make the special Christmas gifts after hearing about children who had been abandoned by their parents.
The ‘Envelopes of Love’ scheme is organised by Mission Without Borders, a Christian charity that helps disadvantaged people across the world.
Julia Fryer, the Rainbow’s group leader, said: “We are delighted to help children in Eastern Europe by packing these Envelopes of Love.
“We've been supporting Mission Without Borders since 2005 and we know they do a great job providing for many children who have so little.
“It's a privilege for us to be part of that.”
