Police investigating an alleged assault in Hatfield have appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward. At around 7pm on Monday 7th January, a woman in her 30s has entered the Co-op store on Bishop’s Rise followed by a man.
There has allegedly been an altercation between the pair during which the woman has either fallen or been pushed to the floor.
It is believed the woman has then run from the store and down the road. She has tried to get into a taxi however the man has arrived and told the taxi driver to leave.The woman suffered bruising as a result of the incident.
Officers investigating the incident are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened, particularly the taxi driver, as they may have information that is vital to the police investigation.

*A 40-year-old man from Hatfield has been arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning ABH and released on bail while investigations continue.
