Ever wondered what it felt like to be hijacked or verbally abused by an international air hostess? Well wonder no more - Pam Ann is on the rampage and no-one is immune this time as she means business (class).

Ahead of her new tour, Pam Ann Around The World, coming to the Alban Arean, the alter ego of Australian comedienne Caroline Reid sits down with Amie Mulderrig and talks about fat elbows, the mile high club and what makes her queen of the skies.

What can the good people of St Albans expect from your show?

Everything is new so buckle up because it’s filthier than ever.

What made you want to become an air hostess?

I always dreamt of flying and serving more than coffee or tea. I grew up in Melbourne, which is so isolated. Melbourne airport is called Tullamarine, which is an ancient aboriginal word for ‘get me out of here’.

What makes a great air hostess?

Knowing how to walk through a cabin without assisting a single passenger – never make eye contact.

Would you say are obsessed with planes/airline industry?

Absolutely I am the biggest plane geek ever, I know everything there is to know about planes, airlines, crews and disasters. Art imitated life.

When travelling, do you ever find yourself slipping into the Pam Ann persona?

Not really, I am very low key when I fly but if the crew recognises me and I’ve had a few wines then who knows where that could go! The funniest thing that happened on a flight recently was on a KLM flight the pilot asked me if I wanted to come into the cockpit for landing - of course I said yes. As we were coming in to land I asked when I should turn my phone off. The pilots both burst out laughing and said ‘Oh that’s just for people behind the cockpit door’.

What was your worst travel experience?

Anything on a low cost carrier and departures from Stansted or Luton.

What is the mile high club and are you a member?

I founded it with Bob Marley – No woman, No Cry was penned from our experience.

Why do airline hostesses always hit my elbows when they pass with their trolleys?

Because you have fat elbows.

So what does the future hold for Pam Ann?

Global domination, worldwide touring and a Pam Ann movie.
