With Hertfordshire County Council elections just around the corner, residents are being reminded to register to vote.

In order to have their voice counted on Thursday, May 2, people must be on St Albans’ electoral register.

Mike Lovelady, the electoral registration officer for the district council, said: "You must be on the electoral register to have your say in the Hertfordshire County Council elections.

"If you have recently moved to the area, or moved house make sure that you register at your new address otherwise you will be unable to vote."

Registration forms must be received by Wednesday, April 17.
